About Me

My photo
Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, United Kingdom
Hello there, my name is Sharon and I live in Westcliff on Sea with my two daughters, Rosie Matilda and Rumer Valentine and, when he's home from uni, my son Sydney. I opened my shop Roses & Rue in July 2009 and this has been a long held dream realised. I have recently given up teaching so that I can focus on building the business. As well as being fanatical about knitting, I love to crochet, sew and generally have a go at all things crafty. Hopefully you will take a little time out now and then to visit the blog and find out whats been going on in my busy world.

Monday, Monday

Monday is now officially my day off so I decided I was going to enjoy the first one and do things that I don't otherwise get time to do. So, after a quick housework session, I had a wander into Leigh for a charity shop trawl. It was a good day for finds - one floral cushion cover and two pretty doilies, all for the princely sum of £1. And who should I bump into but Lisa doing the same thing. Great minds think alike!

Bargain finds from the Salvation Army shop
This afternoon I have made some floral cushions for the living room - I've decided I'm going to revamp the flat and have been collecting bits and bobs in preparation, like fabric, junk furniture etc which is all stored in the garage, waiting to be brought back to life. One of my most recent bargain finds was some beautiful wallpaper from Laura Ashley, which was end of lot and reduced to £4 a roll. I do love a bargain! Anyway, all I need now is some time to get started!

Darn, I never see this stuff when I go walkabout. Am quite jealous as I know what a super eye you have for colour and texture... bet your flat will look superb!
